RLUK is pleased to offer up to five bursary places for the #RLUK20 Conference, aimed at early career professionals, those in roles below associate director level, or those who would otherwise not normally attend the event. At least two of the five bursary places will be allocated for BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic) candidates.
We welcome applications from all colleagues with a professional interest in the research sector, from the UK, Ireland or internationally. RLUK20 bursaries are NOT restricted to colleagues working in RLUK member institutions.
The success or otherwise of submissions to the RLUK20 call for papers will not affect bursary applications, for those that apply to both.
RLUK20 bursary applications should be submitted via this form by close of business on Friday 1 November. We will not consider any applications that arrive after this time.
Bursary awards will cover the RLUK conference fee (including evening events), standard-class travel and reasonable accommodation costs only, up to the amount of £1,000 for the bursary recipient only. Excess costs above the amount of the maximum award and any other costs, including subsistence expenses, will need to be borne by the recipient. Any underspend will be retained by RLUK.
Please note that bursary recipients will be required to meet the cost of their travel and accommodation expenses in the first instance, with costs to be claimed back from RLUK.
RLUK bursary recipients will be expected to attend all days of the conference, and within one month of the end of the event will be required to produce a summary of their experience, which may be published on the RLUK website(s).
International bursary recipients requiring a visa to travel to the UK are advised to start the visa application process soon after receiving confirmation that a bursary has been awarded. Travel and other items should not be booked until recipients have received their visa, and RLUK will not be liable for any costs incurred in the event that a visa application is unsuccessful.
RLUK20 bursaries will be awarded at the discretion of RLUK, and we will not be able to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants. RLUK reserves the right to amend or withdraw any bursary award without prior notification.
